Fish Pie

Let's prepare Fish Pie - a traditional dish of Russian cuisine that will delight the whole family with its rich flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 500 g fish (salmon or cod)
  • 300 g flour
  • 150 g butter
  • 1 egg
  • 200 ml water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

Preparation:

  1. First, prepare the dough: in a deep bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder, add cold butter, cut into pieces.
  2. Gradually pour in the water, knead the dough until smooth, wrap it in plastic wrap, and put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  3. For the filling, clean and chop the fish, season with salt.
  4. Roll out the dough and place 2/3 on the bottom of a baking dish, then evenly distribute the fish.
  5. Cover the pie with the remaining dough, shape it, and make several cuts on the surface for steam to escape.
  6. Brush with egg and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 40 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.
