Fish Pie
Let's prepare Fish Pie - a traditional dish of Russian cuisine that will delight the whole family with its rich flavor.
Ingredients:
- 500 g fish (salmon or cod)
- 300 g flour
- 150 g butter
- 1 egg
- 200 ml water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
Preparation:
- First, prepare the dough: in a deep bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder, add cold butter, cut into pieces.
- Gradually pour in the water, knead the dough until smooth, wrap it in plastic wrap, and put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- For the filling, clean and chop the fish, season with salt.
- Roll out the dough and place 2/3 on the bottom of a baking dish, then evenly distribute the fish.
- Cover the pie with the remaining dough, shape it, and make several cuts on the surface for steam to escape.
- Brush with egg and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 40 minutes until golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
