Classic Russian Borscht

This aromatic borscht is sure to become a part of your menu. Follow this simple recipe to make the perfect beet-based dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 beet
  • 2 potatoes
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 onion
  • 300 g cabbage
  • 500 g beef
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Herbs for garnish

Preparation

  1. Cook the beef in two liters of water, skimming off the foam.
  2. Add the diced potatoes and cook for 15 minutes.
  3. Add the beet, carrot, and onion sautéed in vegetable oil.
  4. Finally, add the cabbage and let it steep for 10 minutes.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with herbs.
