  • Ginger 1 Teaspoon
  • Curry Leaves (finely chopped) 2 Pieces
  • Rice Flour 1-2 Tablespoons
  • Salt (to taste) 1 Piece
  • Onion (small) 1 Piece
  • Oil 1 Piece
  • Green Chilies 2 Pieces
  • Jeera (Cumin) 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Besan (Gram Flour) (used as needed) 1-2 Tablespoons
aval_vada-3290.jpgTake 1 cup of Aval Poha (flattened rice).
aval_vada-3291.jpgSoak the flakes in 1/2 cup of water until soft — about 10 minutes.
aval_vada-3292.jpgPrepare the other ingredients — 1 small onion, 2 green chilies, 1/2 teaspoon Jeera (cumin), 1 teaspoon grated ginger, 1-2 tablespoons besan (gram flour) and 1-2 tablespoons rice flour.
aval_vada-3293.jpgCombine all ingredients with the soaked Aval Poha and add some salt (you can also include curry leaves and fresh coriander if available).
aval_vada-3294.jpgForm small patties. If the mixture is too wet, add more besan or rice flour.
